Photo of Lizanne Henderson

Taking inspiration from the natural environment, landscapes, and wildlife, Lizanne Henderson, based in Southwest Scotland, concentrates on northern geographies – Scotland, Scandinavia, Greenland, North America, and Canadian Arctic – exploring themes such as native and introduced species, threat of extinction and habitat loss, and the Arts in conversations about global warming. Holding a Fine Art degree from University of Guelph, Canada, her preferred medium is watercolour though also works in oils, acrylics, and photography.

In her professional life she is Senior Lecturer in History and Tourism at University of Glasgow. She’s also resource staff with Adventure Canada, guiding on small expeditionary ships to Scotland, North Atlantic and the Arctic regions.
